Hosted Solutions Backup
All hosted web sites & email services are regularly backed up. The backups are for system level DR applications. Please ensure that you have an up to date backup of your web site(s) & email. Also, if you are using our standard corporate email service with POP or IMAP, once you remove the email from the server using a client application or delete feature in the web interface, they email is permanently deleted.
Media Rotation
CeraNet will rotate your backup media (external drives, tapes, etc.) and store your data off site starting at $50 per month. This includes weekly rotation and secure off site data storage. You supply the media and setup the backup process on the server and we'll take care of swapping the drives and taking them off site. We suggest you use external drives as they are relatively inexpensive, yet reliable and easy to use. This rotation service is a critical component for compliance related issues around HIPAA & PCI where you should not use shared resources.
Managed Backup for Dedicated Servers on our SAN
We have a managed backup service for dedicated, colo, and cloud servers via our Storage Area Network (SAN). CeraNet will install our specially created software to backup your databases, content, email, virtual servers, cloud data, etc. You tell us what data you want backed up and how frequently you want it backed up and we will provide a custom quote for the service. We include off-site storage and media rotation, as well as nightly backup service for your protection and data reliability. We have backup agents for the following applications and services:
- MYSQL database backup agent
- SQL Server database backup agent
- Web Application backup agent
- Secure E-commerce backup agent
- E-mail services backup agent **meets Public Information Act regulations for government services / Sunshine Laws.

Cloud Servers System and File Level Backup
All cloud servers and storage comes with the ability to create and save up to 3 snapshots (a read-only copy of the system state frozen at a specific point in time) that give you the security and ability to 'go back in time' when you are installing new software or updates.
Along with snapshots, all cloud servers have regular full system backups included. Cloud servers are stored on our redundant SAN using Microsoft's Data Protection Manager, custom backup services, and commercial agent software.
For file + database transaction level backup we offer the following optional services on cloud servers:
- $25 per 50GB + $14.95 for software license, MRC including a 10 day data retention, nightly backup
- $25 per 50GB + $24.95 for software license, MRC for SQL database transaction level backup includes 10 day data retention, incremental 1 hour transaction backup
We can also help you clone a new cloud server with an image of a current server.
We also recommend that you contract with an outside provider for backup services and run nightly backups to an outside location.
